Plug any USB or Bluetooth HID barcode scanner into your computer and it works instantly — no drivers, no configuration. The app treats scanner input as keyboard input, so if the scanner works on your computer, it works in Scan-Z.
Phone camera scanning
No scanner hardware? Use your phone or tablet camera directly in the app. Point it at any barcode and Scan-Z captures it automatically — you don't need to line it up perfectly.
Works anywhere you sell
In the warehouse while receiving inventory, in a thrift store while sourcing, or at a trade show scanning supplier samples. The app runs on any device with a browser and a Shopify login.
Supported barcode formats
The formats found on virtually every retail product sold in North America and Europe:
- UPC-A — the standard 12-digit US retail barcode
- UPC-E — the compressed 8-digit variant
- EAN-13 — the European and international standard
- EAN-8 — the short-form European variant
